VALE PROFESSOR MIKE WRIGHT
Professor Mike Wright, Imperial College and Director of the Centre for Management Buy-out Research, died on 25th November after a short illness.
Mike made a tremendous contribution to the management studies community, in particular through his long involvement with the Journal of Management Studies where he was General Editor from 2003-2008 and subsequently Consulting Editor. Mike was elected a member of the Society for the Advancement of Management Studies Council in 2009, Treasurer from 2010-2015 and Chair from 2015-2019. Those of us who had the pleasure to work with Mike will remember him as a prodigious and gifted scholar, as a person dedicated to building the management studies community, and as a kind, decent and funny man. On behalf of the SAMS Council, the JMS Editors and the staff of the Editorial Office, I would like to express sadness at Mike’s death and gratitude for his contribution to the community and to pass on condolences to his family.
