The Journal of Management Studies (JMS) is delighted to host a full-day Paper Development Workshop (PDW) at the 49th ANPAD Annual Meeting (ANPAD 2025). Designed to provide critical training for publishing in leading academic journals, the workshop will help participants polish their drafts into submission-ready papers and create opportunities for networking and scholarly exchange.
The workshop will be led by Prof. Yasin Rofcanin (University of Bath, JMS Associate Editor), with the valued local support of Prof. Rafael Alcadipani (FGV EAESP).
Who Should Apply?
Researchers at all faculty ranks are welcome. We particularly encourage PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career scholars to apply.
Workshop Structure
The PDW will take place on Friday, 3rd October 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the EnANPAD venue in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil.
- Part I (Morning):
Insights into crafting papers for top-tier journals, understanding the JMS editorial process, and navigating the publication journey.
- Part II (Afternoon):
Interactive roundtable paper development sessions guided by the JMS editor and local scholar, with tailored feedback on proposals.
Proposal Requirements
To participate in Part II, applicants must submit a 1,000-word proposal (excluding references, tables, and figures) that includes:
- Title page (title of the manuscript in preparation, author names, e-mails, institutions)
- Abstract (max. 200 words, with keywords)
- Core proposal including:
- Research question(s) and motivating ideas
- Theoretical significance and novelty
- Methodological approach (with emerging/indicative findings if available)
- Key contributions to theory and practice
- Fit with JMS aims, scope, and mission
Tables and figures may be included as appendices.

Interactive Roundtable Session
The afternoon workshop will be conducted in an interactive roundtable format led by Professor Yasin Rofcanin. To foster meaningful exchange, participants are expected to review one another’s proposals in advance and prepare brief comments. During the session, each participant will provide a concise overview of their work (5 minutes). This will be followed by a facilitated discussion, during which the editor will guide the conversation, offer developmental feedback, and encourage constructive peer-to-peer dialogue.

Yasin Rofcanin is a Chaired Professor of Organisational Psychology and Human Resource Management at the University of Bath School of Management. Born and educated in Istanbul (Bogazici University), he completed my Ph.D. study at the Warwick Business School, University of Warwick. His research focuses on employees’ proactive work approaches at work with a focus on job crafting, ideals and well-being. His further stream of research integrates work-family balance with current theories on human resource management and organisational psychology. His research has been extensively published in top-tier journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management, Human Relations, Human Resource Management (USA), Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of Organizational Behaviour and Journal of Vocational Behaviour. He serves as an Editor-in-Chief of the Annual Review Issues for Human Relations and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Management Studies. He has been a long-standing Editorial Board Member of the major journals, including Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management and Human Resource Management Journal.
